Landmark Show Village set to open at Woodford

Seven show homes on the former site of Woodford Aerodrome, famous for its association with the Lancaster Bomber, are set to open this weekend as part of a major development by award-winning house-builder Redrow.

Homebuyers will have the opportunity to view the showcase properties, which will be in a range of sizes, from two to five bedrooms, when they are unveiled as part of the first phase of the development, incorporating 145 homes, at Woodford Garden Village on June 25 and 26.

The impressive new development, on Chester Road, is set to ultimately deliver up to 950 homes over the next ten years. As part of its planning agreement with Stockport Council, Redrow has committed funds for the local community worth a total of £9.6 million, which will see the creation of a host of brand new facilities including a £3.5 million primary school, improvements to local transport provision, roads and footpaths, plus a contribution towards affordable homes.

Sensitive to its idyllic rural location, Woodford Garden Village will feature properties from Redrow’s sought after Heritage Collection, while incorporating significant amounts of green open spaces.

Aptly combining the beauty of `something old, something new’, the Heritage Collection at Woodford Garden Village combines the perfect mix of traditional craftsmanship with architecture inspired from the 1930s, resulting in homes that deliver fine 21st century living while capturing the great British style.

Traditional houses built for today’s busy family life, the initial phase of properties includes 13 different styles, each with individual design touches, featuring generously proportioned bright, airy open plan living and contemporary interiors to create real character.

Nothing is left to chance when it comes to design, down to the colour of the front doors, with the soft Heritage colour palette inspired by the Arts and Craft era to add warmth and depth.

Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “We are delighted to be opening our first show homes at Woodford Garden Village. Here we are not only building new homes, but investing in a whole new community which will bring significant improvements to the local area. This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the remarkable history of this site and we are proud to be a part of that.”

Woodford is situated is in the middle of the larger towns and villages of Handforth, Bramhall and Poynton, each with a good selection of local amenities. It is just five miles from Stockport, and close to road and rail links to the nearby city of Manchester and the whole of the north west.

A launch weekend for the show homes and marketing suite will be held on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 June, between 10am and 5.30pm, with the show homes open seven days a week thereafter.
