Silver celebrations as Redrow employees mark 25-year careers

Redrow's David Farnworth has put the reason for him reaching an impressive 25-year milestone working for the housebuilder down to his love of meeting people.

David, who’s based at Redrow’s Lancashire divisional headquarters in Chorley, was recognised for his achievement at a recent staff conference and described his career with the company as “so enjoyable, I wish I could do it all over again”.

“I’ve loved every minute of working here,” he said. “I started as a customer service technician and worked my way up to customer service co-ordinator. I’ve dealt with a lot of customers along the way and I’ve really enjoyed helping people find happiness in their new homes.”

To mark his career landmark David, who’s from Wigan and worked as a joiner prior to joining Redrow, was presented with a digital camera, Champagne and a commemorative glass plaque.

“Being 63 now, I’ll happily be here until I retire,” he added. “Receiving the award was fantastic, it was a great day and I’d like to thank all the Redrow staff for their help and support over the years. I’m looking forward to the next couple of years and I’m sure they will be just as good as the last 25.”

Awards also went to Barbara Houghton sales co-ordinator, who after 25 years at Redrow has now taken early retirement, and customer service technician Paul Lucas who is celebrating 10 years with the company so far.

Managing director of Redrow Homes (Lancashire) Steve Greenhalgh said: “Redrow has a great track record when it comes to retaining employees. We’re thrilled that David and Paul have stayed with us so long and we wish Barbara a very happy retirement after her 25 years. They’ve all done an amazing job and have set a very positive precedent for other members of our team.”

Redrow is currently selling homes at a number of locations across Lancashire and parts of Merseyside and Greater Manchester including in Preston, at Foxlow Manor and The Chase, and in Chorley, at Sandy Lane. A new venture, The Coppice, just north of Southport, is also coming soon.

Between the various developments there’s plenty of choice, ranging from two-bedroom apartments from £89,995 in Wigan and Chorley, to large luxury detached houses from £369,995 at Sandy Lane, Buckshaw Village.
