Two coffee mornings at Redrow Homes’ developments near Chester have raised vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The charity had asked people across the country to host events as a way of raising funds for local Macmillan teams, including those here in the North West, to ensure that no one will have to fight cancer alone.
Last year more than five million people around the UK hosted or attended a coffee morning, raising a record breaking £15m.
Redrow pledged to donate £10 for every visitor who came along and enjoyed a coffee at two of its developments; Stretton Green, in Stretton, and Crown Park, in Huntington.
The company hosted a number of similar events around the country and in total has raised more than £1,000 for Macmillan.
Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), praised both events’ success: “We were pleased that people came to show their support and delighted to be contributing to the community in a positive way by supporting local Macmillan teams. It is a charity close to everyone’s hearts.”
