Sample the luxury Redrow lifestyle at wreath making workshop

Redrow is encouraging homebuyers to get into the festive spirit with a Christmas wreath making workshop in Liverpool.

The housebullder is holding a special event at its Allerton ventures, New Heys and Calderstones Grange, over the weekend of December 6/7 where people can perfect their craft skills while discovering more about making a move to a brand new home.

Visitors will be able to get hands on experience of making a homemade wreath under the expert guidance of local florist The Dutch Flower Shop.

What’s more, those in the market for a new home, but who have a property of their own to sell first, can find out how to get ahead of the competition before the January market hots up.

Last year, property website Rightmove reported a 20% increase in those looking for a new home between Christmas and New Year, with its page views on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day reaching up to 38 million*.

As a result, Redrow is recommending that those who want to secure a brand new home in Allerton at the start of 2015 to seriously think about putting their existing property on the market pre-Christmas.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow (NW) said: “January one of the busiest months of the year for selling a home. As a result, people leaving it until the New Year to market their property are certainly missing out as enquiries are heavy over the Christmas break. We’ll be on hand to talk to visitors about that at our event while they enjoy the festive workshop.”

Now is the perfect time for vendors who would like to buy a brand new family home to sign up to Redrow’s Mastermove scheme, allowing them to take full advantage of the festive boom.

Mastermove takes away all the stresses of selling, ideal in the busy run up to Christmas, because Redrow does all of the hard work. Customers have their property valued and, once a selling price is agreed, Redrow instructs a local estate agent to market the property on their behalf. Crucially, the housebuilder keeps in regular contact with all parties to ensure the sales process runs quickly and smoothly and they will even pay the estate agent’s fees at the end of the day. All it takes is a small deposit, which will be refunded upon completion.

Prices are currently from £330,995 at New Heys and £589,995 at Calderstones Grange with homes all hailing from Redrow’s sought-after Heritage Collection.

For those buying under the £600,000 threshold, once they’ve used Mastermove to ensure their existing property is ‘sold subject to contract’, they may even be able to use the Government backed Help to Buy scheme to reduce the initial cost of the new home they’re after.

Help to Buy includes a 20% equity loan that’s interest free for five years. This reduces the initial cost of the home being purchased and means customers only have to find a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage from a lender of choice.

The ‘Why Wait’ event will take place at both of the developments over the weekend of December 6/7 between 11am and 4pm. The wreath making workshop will take place at the Calderstones Grange ‘Highgrove’ showhome from 11am until 2pm on the Saturday.
