Open house for final few homes at Canal View in Garstang

Redrow is inviting home-hunters to steer a path to perfection and view its final remaining properties at Canal View in Garstang.

It’s an invitation that will prove hard to resist with only five fabulous homes from its prized Heritage Collection left at the picture-postcard development at The Toppings, including two that can be bought at 80% of market value.

A special open house event is being held this Saturday, July 1st.

“This development has it all,” says Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), “from the beautiful location in one of Lancashire’s loveliest market towns, close to the most welcoming countryside; and, of course, our marvellous homes.

“We always knew that Canal View would be popular and, while we are confident that the final homes will be snapped up soon, we thought it would be a nice idea to encourage those who may be interested to take another look around. They can view the homes and their setting now that they are part of what has become an amazing community.”

The last homes are from Redrow’s Arts & Crafts-inspired Heritage Collection, which combines the best of old and new; creating traditional craftsmanship exteriors with period-style features, with inclusive open-plan interiors and quality fixtures and fittings.

Among them is the three-bedroom dormer bungalow, the Bournemouth, at £399,995. The majority of its living space, including two bedrooms, is on the ground floor but there is a double bedroom and en-suite in the roofspace.

Debbie and Mike Powell recently moved from a four-bedroom detached home into a Bournemouth bungalow at another of Redrow’s Lancashire developments, Ricksby Grange in Wrea Green, and the couple adore it.

“Our two daughters are now grown up so we decided to downsize and go in search of village life,” says Debbie, 56. “But the Bournemouth still has plenty of room with three double bedrooms, which is great because the girls like to come and visit; and I love the fact that it’s so spacious.

“We use the master bedroom with en-suite on the upper floor but, should it ever be necessary – and I hope it won’t for a long time yet – there are two other bedrooms on the ground floor.”

There are also four-bedroom detached Oxford and Welwyn style homes available, from £314,995, both of which feature open plan kitchen and dining areas, en-suite to the master bedroom, integral garage and a host of other practical additions.
The Welwyn, in particular, has a stunning kitchen/dining/family area which spans the entire width of the home and has wide patio doors which open out onto the garden.

And Canal View also has a pair of two-bedroom Tavy properties remaining under Redrow’s ‘Advantage’ scheme. They’re for sale at just 80% of the market value, making them a very achievable £143,995.

Homes sold through Advantage are designed to help first-time buyers move out of their parents’ homes or rented accommodation, but stay in the area. “They are ideal for young people, key workers and those on more modest incomes who may not normally be able to afford to buy,” Claire explains.

They are offered at a reduced price for those who fulfil certain criteria, which may include starting a family, taking a job in the area and/or having a household income of under £60,000. “There really are homes for everyone at Canal View,” says Claire.
