The club, which has notched up two centuries of history, is delighted by the support which will see the developer’s name and details emblazoned on signs at its Moorland Road ground and on its team kit.
Bill said it’s only thanks to help from businesses like Redrow that clubs like Fylde CC could carry on for further innings, and added that it was vital to both the club and the community.
“Our club is thought to go back to 1810 so it’s part of the history and heritage of the Poulton-le-Fylde area,” he said. “We have had generations of families play and watch cricket here and it is so important for that to continue.
“At the moment we have five or six junior sides and two senior sides involving a lot of people from the community, and we want to keep that going. It is an excellent ground and a real asset to the area – the junior section, in particular, is thriving – but running a cricket club doesn’t come cheap so we are reliant on help and support from local business and are indebted to companies like Redrow.”
The cricket ground is situated behind The Pavilion, one of Redrow’s newest housing developments in Lancashire, which features a range of four-bedroom detached homes from its Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection, with available homes currently from £289,995.
Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire) said: “We are sure that buyers will be bowled over by the selection and quality of the homes we have here.
“We’re delighted to have been able to show some neighbourly spirit to the cricket club – and were fascinated to hear of the site’s royal connections from Bill.”
