Redrow Homes in on Woodford Community

Whether it’s a scout hut that’s overdue a makeover or a school that needs a new roof or wildlife garden, a local housebuilder’s help is at hand.

Redrow has started building work at Woodford Garden Village, near Stockport, with the first homes due to go on sale this summer.

Keen to engage with the local community, the award-winning housebuilder is on the hunt for groups in the area to work alongside.

Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Redrow strives to get involved with the communities in which we build. We’ve offered our support to hundreds of projects up and down the country and Woodford will be no exception. In the past we’ve provided much needed funds, time and skills to community groups, sports clubs and charities. We’ve renovated kitchens in local scout huts, sponsored grass roots sports and assisted with a variety of community and school projects.

“With building work on our brand new homes now underway in Woodford, we’d like to invite the local community to suggest projects that they think we might be able to help with and we’ll endeavour to provide assistance where we can.”

Woodford Garden Village is set to be one of the biggest developments in the North West over the next ten years; delivering over 900 new homes, as well as a host of brand new facilities, just five miles from Stockport and within easy reach of central Manchester.

Based at the historic former aerodrome at Woodford, phase one of this landmark development will include 145 high quality homes in a range of sizes from two to five-bedrooms. Sensitive to its idyllic rural location, the development will feature significant amounts of open spaces including traditional village greens.

A show village of seven homes will launch in the summer, so visitors can get a feel for the lifestyle on offer. The development will feature from Redrow’s popular Heritage Collection which marries Arts and Crafts-style exteriors with high specification contemporary interiors. Prices will be announced at the launch.

Those wishing to nominate a project for Redrow to consider should email with contact details and a summary of the project by March 31st, 2016.
