Redrow Neighbours Have Become Good Friends

Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours,” – or so a certain Aussie soap theme tune goes.

And Karen Isherwood would certainly agree.

Karen attended a ‘Welcome Party’ organised by Redrow at its popular Lucas Green development in Whittle-le-Woods near Chorley. There she met some of her soon-to-be–neighbours, who are now becoming good friends.

Karen, 35, a part-time estimator, says: “The welcome party was a nice way to meet the neighbours and it meant we recognised each other and knew each other's names when we moved in. Our children played with another little girl at the welcome party so they were really excited to move in and see their new friend again."

“It made me feel like we weren't just buying a home, we were going to be part of a community too, which is exactly how it has worked out.”

Karen who, with IT husband Nick, 44, has two children, Sebastian, five, and Jasmine, three, says: “We are really enjoying the house, it is a lovely family home in a great location and is everything we had hoped it would be.

"We have bought a four-bedroom Welwyn which is so beautiful and spacious – and we have wonderful views of fields from our living room that we hadn't anticipated. It is just perfect.

“But what has made it even better is having such lovely neighbours. Everyone is friendly and it's one of those places where people stop to chat and help each other out. Sebastian and Jasmine have become good friends with the little girl they met at the welcome party and they often play together. Her mum and I have taken the children for walks and to the park together too.”

Redrow sales director Claire Jarvis isn’t entirely surprised by the friendships that are springing up at Lucas Green.

“Unlike moving into an established neighbourhood where everyone knows everyone else and newcomers might feel like ‘outsiders’, here everyone is new to their homes, their street, maybe even the area, and looking to form new bonds – our post-reservation welcome parties really help on that front,” Claire says.
