Redrow to plant seeds of a new garden village

Award-winning housebuilder Redrow is sowing the seeds of an exciting new garden village that's set to begin blossoming early this summer.

Ledsham Garden Village in Little Sutton, Cheshire, has been hailed as “the area's first garden village of the 21st Century”, and five show homes will be unveiled at the location towards the end of June.

The new neighbourhood will be created on 105 hectares of land, most of which was previously agricultural fields, and will eventually become a sustainable new community of up to 2,000 homes, to meet strong demand in the area.

Pathways and a distinctive 'boulevard' will run through the heart of the development, at one end of which is Sutton Hall. In addition, there will be many other tree-lined avenues and green spaces, as well as a large new park area for residents and the surrounding communities to enjoy.

Redrow has planning permission for the first phase of 170 properties, 43 of which will be affordable homes.

Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “It is truly exciting to be able to announce this new venture for Redrow, not just because it is the first garden village for the area for some time but because it is going to be a superb new community with a stunning collection of homes.

“All our houses will be from our sought-after Heritage Collection which combines traditional architecture with modern and spacious interiors. Designed very much with today's busy families in mind, all the homes will complement the natural surroundings of the countryside beautifully with plenty of green spaces amidst the properties.

“I can't wait to see this development begin to flourish.”

Ledsham Garden Village, to the north of Ledsham Road, will initially see the creation of two neighbouring developments: Oaklands will house some of the home builder's smaller three and four-bedroom properties, while Sycamore Green will showcase its larger, premium style detached homes.

Altogether, the development will see a wide selection of quality three, four and five bedroom houses to meet the needs of a wide range of homebuyers.

The five show homes are due to open on June 25 and 26, and will include three and four-bedroom properties. Among them will be the superb Henley style home at Sycamore Green. Undeniably impressive it is one of Redrow’s most popular four-bedroom properties.

With two en-suite bedrooms and a large kitchen, dining and family area which extends the full width of the house to the rear, it is a generously proportioned home with real quality and character.

Perfectly situated in the Cheshire village of Little Sutton, a quaint yet bustling area, it is within easy reach of road and rail links, with Liverpool and Chester both close by. Yet at the same time, it enjoys a picturesque and delightful setting, on the doorstep of North Wales and surrounded by open countryside.
