A Hartford Scout group are benefitting from new technology to help them connect with Scout groups around the world and to enjoy videos and music during their meetings.
Redrow Homes donated £500 towards new PC hardware and a DVD player for the 1st Hartford Scouts.
The equipment will also enable the Scouts to create their own presentations and photo slide shows as well as receive presentations to support their learning.
Philip White, Chairman of the 1st Hartford Scout Group: “This new technology will be of real value to the group as the computer is used extensively, both by the leaders for administration of their packs, but also at most Scout meetings for all manner of things like linking and communicating with Scouts around the world.
“We’d like to thank Redrow for their support in providing the funds to update our PC and DVD equipment.”
After opening its trio of Hartford developments, last year Redrow launched its Hartford Community Initiative and invited local groups and projects to send their requests for help with funding.
Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow (NW) added: “When we first opened our developments in Hartford we were keen to play a part in building community links as well as homes. We are delighted to have been able to assist the 1st Hartford Scouts and hope they gain lots of enjoyment from the new facilities.”
Redrow’s three developments in Hartford are Hartford Grange, Weaver Park and Hunters Chase, each offering a range of family homes from Redrow’s Heritage Collection. For more information see www.redrow.co.uk/hartford
