Recent research by Halifax found that seaside house prices are starting to coast along – increasing by up to 63% in some parts of the country over the last decade. However, Fleetwood remains one of the top 10 most affordable towns for those who enjoy waking up to the sea air for 365 days of the year.
At Harbour Village in the town, Redrow has just released properties boasting estuary views, enabling buyers to make the most of the coastal location.
They’re doubly affordable with Help to Buy, the Government backed initiative that allows purchasers to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the initial cost of their new home.
This Sunday (September 15) Redrow is holding a special event to guide customers through the scheme.
Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “This new phase of Harbour Village is eagerly awaited by those who want a new home with views of the Wyre Estuary. Plus with news that mortgages are at their most affordable for 14 years and that lending is at a five year high boosting consumer confidence we’re anticipating even stronger demand.
“We’re inviting people to join us this Sunday to discover how simple, straight forward and affordable owning one of these stylish new homes can be with Help to Buy.”
Claire explains: “Help to Buy increases borrowers’ purchase capacity, enabling them to get onto the property ladder for the first time or, if they’re stepping up, to buy somewhere bigger than they could otherwise afford on the open market.”
Located off Amounderness Way, Harbour Village offers plenty of choice, ranging from two-bedroom properties to substantial four-bedroom detached family homes.
Current prices start from £137,995 for a two-bedroom property or an initial outlay of £110,396 with Help to Buy. The lower price includes a 5% customer deposit and a 75% mortgage. The remaining 20% is covered by an equity loan from the Government, which is interest free for five years.
The combination of Redrow’s high specification, with well equipped kitchens and stylish bathrooms, and the location has attracted buyers to Harbour Village.
“People love how quiet it is here. The site is bounded by the Wyre Estuary, which is noted for its population of wintering birds, and the Fleetwood Marsh Nature Reserve, as well as being close to Fleetwood Marina. Yet despite the sense of serenity, homeowners still have access to local amenities including a supermarket, dozens of shops at Freeport Fleetwood and a choice of schools; while the motorway network is within easy reach,” Claire adds.
To find out about using Help to Buy to purchase a brand new home at Harbour Village, visit the sales office and showhomes from 11am to 4pm this Sunday (September 15).
