Homebuyer surgery will cure any property buying ills

A special ‘surgery’ is set to provide the best remedies for any concerns about moving house.

Financial and practical help to sell up and move on will be just the tonic for would-be homebuyers visiting Whitehill Meadows, in Blackpool, on Saturday, June 14.

In particular it will showcase some of Redrow’s larger family homes and prescribe ways to make owning them much easier to achieve.

Redrow’s Homebuyer Surgery will include advice from various experts on a number of subjects, including Help to Buy, which reduces the initial cost of a new home by 20%; and Mastermove, which helps find a buyer for a customer’s existing property and takes care of estate agent’s fees.  

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “There is a variety of three and four-bedroom family homes at Whitehill Meadows and complementing that is a choice of initiatives to help make the move as smooth as possible.

“On the day we will have independent mortgage advisers, solicitors and estate agents on hand to talk customers through the different options and help them decide which one might be best for their individual circumstances.

“For example, Help to Buy is a government scheme that means house hunters only need a 5% deposit and includes a 20% equity loan to help make the price more affordable. It’s not restricted to first-time buyers and, because it’s available on new homes up to £600,000, can also help families move up the property ladder provided they’ve sold their home subject to contract. We can even help them with that too, using Mastermove.”

Redrow’s Mastermove scheme offers a way for existing home owners to sell their current property simply and swiftly in order to move up to a brand new Redrow home. It can be used whether people are moving up, down or sideways on the property ladder. Redrow works closely with a local estate agent to market the current home and help customers achieve full market value for the property they’re selling and even pays the estate agent’s fees at the end of the day.

Alternatively, part exchange may be available on selected new homes provided customers are selling a property that’s generally worth at least 35% less than the home they want to buy.

“If the price differential is suitable, we’ll effectively act as a cash buyer and buy their property so they can buy one of our brand new homes. It’s a quick and stress-free way to move without getting caught up in a complicated chain of other buyers and sellers,” Claire added.

Advice on all three options will be available during the Homebuyer Surgery, while three fully furnished showhomes will be open for viewing, offering a glimpse of the lifestyle on offer at Whitehill Meadows.
