Customers at Redrow’s Woodford Garden Village development can be rest assured they’re in safe hands as members of its team can not only boast many awards, but also recognition from the queen and a former prime minister.
Site manager, Ashley Terron, oversees the build programme for the new homes at Woodford Garden. He has a wealth of accolades including UK Apprentice Champion of the year, a gold medal for bricklaying at the WorldSkills International Championships in Leipzig 2013, recognition by the Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers as a Master Craftsman, and a British Empire Medal after being named in the Queen’s Birthday list last year. Additionally, he has several Skillbuild awards for bricklaying.
And all of this has come before he turns 24.
In 2015, he, along with two other Redrow apprentices, got to rub shoulders with the then Prime Minister, David Cameron and other senior ministers at a special reception at 10 Downing Street for a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience which marked the start of National Apprenticeship Week.
Redrow took him on as an assistant site manager in 2014 and since then he’s worked at various developments in Liverpool and Chester. Fast forward to 2017 and he’s in charge of Redrow’s flagship garden village.
Ashley said: “It’s been an action-packed few years and I’m extremely proud of what I’ve achieved so far. I’m really looking forward to working with the rest of the team on such an important development.”
Award-winning sales consultant Amy Houlihan has also recently joined the team, after impressing customers at Redrow’s Weaver Park near Northwich, gaining a 100% customer satisfaction score for the development. Having recently won Redrow’s coveted Sales Consultant of the Year accolade, Amy is bringing her award-winning form to Woodford Garden Village.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be working at Woodford Garden Village now. I’ve been selling some of Redrow’s most sought-after homes in Hartford so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in here too and helping families find the right homes for them.”
Amy is a strong supporter of the Meningitis Now charity, and was instrumental in helping Redrow raise more than £2,000 for the charity recently.
Amy adds: “It’s very exciting to be working on a scheme like this. Although it’s in its first year, you can already see the community that’s emerging at Woodford Garden Village. The first homebuyers have moved in, there’s a village green and we are welcoming new customers every day, who all want to sneak a glimpse at the show homes and experience the way of life that this new development promises.”
While the first phase comprises 145 properties, Woodford Garden Village will eventually become a new community with 950 new homes to be built over the next decade. Sensitive to its idyllic rural location, it will feature properties from Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection, all set among significant amounts of green open spaces.
Redrow has committed funds for the local community worth a total of £9.6 million as part of its planning agreement, including a £3.5 million primary school, improvements to local transport provision, roads and footpaths, plus a contribution towards affordable homes.
Woodford is situated is in the middle of the larger towns and villages of Handforth, Bramhall and Poynton, as well as being close to Wilmslow and Alderley Edge. The new garden village is perfectly located in the Cheshire countryside, with easy access to road and rail links to Manchester and the whole of the North West.
A show home village featuring seven different house types is open to view seven days a week, Mondays from 12pm to 5.30pm and Tuesdays to Sundays 10am to 5.30pm. For more information visit www.redrow.co.uk/woodford
