See a little bit of history in Barton

Those who thought they had missed their chance to see an Olympic torch should head along to Fox’s Fold in Barton upon Humber this Sunday (July 22).

The torch relay previously travelled through Hull, Grimsby and Cleethorpes but narrowly missed out on passing through the streets of Barton.

Now Redrow has teamed up with torchbearer Mike Gibbons, of the City of Hull ABC, who will be at Fox’s Fold from noon to 4pm with his torch in return for a donation towards his boxing club’s new kits.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “Those who missed the opportunity to see the torch during the relay in Hull should come along to Fox’s Fold on Sunday when they’ll have the chance to talk to Mike about the experience and have their photograph taken with the torch. Mike’s commitment to the community and his work as a boxing coach is truly inspirational. To thank him for the loan of his piece of history we will be making a donation of £350 towards the club’s new kit.”

Far more than just a boxing club, City of Hull ABC also runs a well women’s group, community cafe and kids’ club.

The venue for Sunday’s event is Fox’s Fold, in Tofts Road, which features a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes from the sought-after New Heritage Collection. Prices start from as little as £104,999.

Built to the high standard that helped Redrow win gold in last year’s What House? awards,  the homes boast a winning combination of Arts and Crafts architecture and family friendly interiors.

With selected properties now ready to move into and a choice of incentives available to help get people moving, the race is on for those who want to own a beautiful brand new home.

“Like all the best teams, we strive to attain the highest standards and go that extra mile for our customers. Our skilled craftsmen take pride in ensuring all of our homes have a quality finish and our specification wins out over most of the competition too. For example our kitchens are kitted out with integrated top brand name appliances including oven, hob, microwave and fridge freezer,” Patsy added.

Buyers will be on to a winner thanks to incentives from Redrow. For example, customers could get a head start with a 5% gifted contribution towards their deposit or take advantage of part exchange of the Government-backed NewBuy initiative.

Patsy explained: “With part exchange, buyers with a home of their own to sell will be able to clear any hurdles such as buyers who change their mind, last minute haggles over price, complicated chains and estate agent’s fees. Even those without a large cash deposit could be in the running for a new home as thanks to NewBuy they may only need to have saved 5% of the purchase price, which could work out at as little as £5,250.”

To view the show homes and have your photograph taken with Mike Gibbons’ Olympic torch, visit Fox’s Fold this Sunday (July 22) from noon to 4pm.
