What exactly is it that makes Horsforth such a great place to live?
According to the Sunday Times, which recently voted it one of the best places to live in the UK, the deciding factors are proximity to Leeds, good transport links, nice restaurants and outstanding schools.
Now Horsforth residents – and those thinking of living here – are being invited to have their say.
As part of a special bank holiday weekend event to celebrate the success of new homes at Horsforth Vale and to launch its latest offering ‘Woodlands’, Redrow Homes is installing a video booth and inviting visitors to step inside and tell everyone “Why I love Horsforth”. Results will be shared online later.
The event will also include entertainment by the Island Boys steel drum band, a children’s entertainer and free ice cream served from a vintage ice cream tricycle. The fun starts at 12 noon on Sunday, May 29 and will continue until 4pm.
Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “We’re celebrating the success of our Heritage Collection properties at The Green at Horsforth Vale and our more contemporary Abode Horsforth homes. We’ll also be launching our newest venture, Woodlands. But above all we’ll be celebrating Horsforth – and everything it has to offer.
“Our homes benefit from all the amenities of Horsforth, including the independent shops, the bars, cafes and restaurants and, of course, the excellent schools. We’ve also helped fund a new bus service that links Horsforth Vale with Horsforth train station, making commuting to Leeds a doddle.
“Next Sunday (May 29) will be a chance for people to relax, have fun and view six different fully furnished show homes – including two new ones for Woodlands. On a practical level they’ll be able to find out more about owning a new home with helpful advice about the different options open to them including the Government backed Help to Buy equity loan scheme.”
The Green at Horsforth Vale, on Calverley Lane, offers a collection of two, three and four-bedroom stone-built houses set among lush green surroundings, while still being close to good schools, shops and amenities. There are currently three and four-bedroom homes available from £321,950.
Just around the corner, Abode by Redrow is a trendsetting new collection with homes displaying an ‘uncluttered’ but smart façade. The two and three-bedroom houses, from £269,950, have wide open living spaces – virtually all of the ground floor is open plan – and features like wet rooms and underfloor heating.
Woodlands, the newest of the trio, will eventually feature 125 new homes in a heavily wooded location on the site of the former Riverside Mills, off Low Hall Road. The first phase includes a mix of four-bedroom homes, including some larger styles up to more than 1,800 square feet. Initial prices for these Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection homes will start from around £490,000.
Start your celebrations at The Green at Horsforth Vale, on Calverley Lane, this Sunday (May 29) from 12 noon and find out all about Abode Horsforth and Woodlands too. And while you’re there, don’t forget to step inside the video booth and let everyone know why you love Horsforth! Further information: www.redrow.co.uk/horsforth
