Debbie's in a league of her own after scoring top sales award

When Debbie Westwood touched down at her latest Redrow development in Harrogate she had one goal in mind – to make it a success.

And while her aim was a challenge – “it was then a rugby field with the posts still up” – the 51-year-old from Pontefract has done just that, and more.

With her perfect (sales) pitch Debbie has helped make Devonshire Gardens in Harrogate, one of Redrow’s best-performing locations – and scored the award of Yorkshire Sales Consultant of the Year to boot!

“And I am so delighted,” says Debbie. “To win the award was something I had not expected at all but it is wonderful to have.

“I enjoy doing my job and doing it well. I want to make sure that customers who buy Redrow homes are delighted with their purchase. It is a big responsibility to ensure house hunters know exactly what they are getting, especially when they are buying off-plan.

“Watching a rugby field being turned into a housing development, and then into a community as people move in, is just a joy and something which gives me a huge sense of achievement and pleasure. So to win an award while doing that is great.”

Devonshire Gardens is being built on the former ground of Harrogate Rugby Club, in Claro Road, after the club relocated to new, bigger and better facilities in Rudding Park Lane.

Debbie has been at Devonshire Gardens since it was launched in June 2015 and with Redrow for 14 years after working in recruitment. She sees her role as a “journey” on which she and the buyer go, from seeing the house to securing the purchase and providing care before and after they move in.

“And above everything I treat everyone the same,” says Debbie.
