Home town support boosts Imogen's game

Promising table tennis player Imogen Barber is rising up the ranks with help from Redrow.

The teenager who lives near Redrow’s Holtby Gardens development in Cottingham signed a sponsorship deal with the developer in November and since then has been building on her success in the sport.

Dad Frank explains: “The Redrow sponsorship has paid for additional one to one training with a top coach. With the extra help she has made two national quarter finals, losing to the eventual winner of both events, but putting in good performances.  She has won three events at an open competition at Grantham and has started to head in the right direction in the national rankings.”

Imogen represents Yorkshire at table tennis and is in the top 15 in the cadet girls in the English Table Tennis Association rankings.

She recently attended an under 15s event in the Midlands which is only open to the top players.

“Imogen came 13th out of 15 which is a great result considering she still has another year to go at under 15 level,” Frank added.

“She has several key competitions coming up including the National Championships Qualifiers and the English Schools Nationals in April and the English Table Tennis National in May.”

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “When we heard about Imogen’s talent for table tennis we were happy to help as we pride ourselves as a company in supporting sport at grass roots level. We’re delighted to hear that our sponsorship is helping her progress and wish her luck for the rest of the season.”

Holtby Gardens offers a winning range of homes with two to four-bedrooms. Current prices start from £144,950.
