Steve is part of the Methley in Bloom group and entered the competition in the Yorkshire Evening Post to ensure the village held a party to remember.
Steve explained: “This year’s Scarecrow Festival coincided with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and had a ‘best of British’ theme. When I saw that Redrow was offering a party pack I thought it was a great opportunity to enhance what we were already offering in the village. I’m delighted to have won.”
The competition was open to individuals and community groups across Yorkshire. The prize included party essentials including table rolls, plates, cups, bowls and napkins – all patriotically themed in red, white and blue – plus shopping vouchers, teddy bears and key rings.
Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “Our business is building new homes and creating communities. We also like to get involved in existing communities in the areas where we build. We’re glad we were able to help the people of Methley celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style.
