Beth Salisbury is one of the first in the East Midlands to take on the Redrow housebuilding degree
A Leicestershire woman is one of the first in the East Midlands to take on an innovative new housebuilding degree.
Beth Salisbury, aged 19, from Ravenstone, is in her first year of the ‘Construction Management – Housebuilding’ degree, which has been introduced by Redrow Homes in partnership with Coleg Cambria and Liverpool John Moores University.
A Trainee Quantity Surveyor at our East Midlands division, Beth completed her A-levels before deciding a job in the construction industry was for her, and applied for the degree.
Beth said: “I was first attracted to the degree because it’s a great opportunity to continue learning and broaden my knowledge of the housebuilding industry, while creating the building blocks of my career at Redrow Homes.
“I’m now part of the East Midlands division, and divide my time between working and studying – it’s the perfect balance of education, while gaining hands-on knowledge.
“My degree covers the entire housebuilding industry from designing and building, to health and safety and surveying. I learn new things every day, each week is a new challenge – and it’s wonderful to know that the work I’m doing is playing a part in building somebody’s future home.
“For now, I’m focused on getting the most out of my degree and learning from those I work alongside at Redrow Homes, but my dream is to one day be managing director of my own housebuilding division.”
