A talented local youngster has won the title of East Midlands Grow-getter, following a region-wide search to discover the gardeners of the future.
Launching a hunt for imaginative ‘Grow-getters’ aged between four and eleven to join the team, our East Midlands division challenged youngsters to design a garden that featured both eco-friendly and futuristic elements, to provide inspiration for its own landscape gardens.
From candyfloss trees and toadstool deck chairs, to luxury birdhouses with in-built solar panels, we were impressed with the creativity and imaginative ideas from aspiring landscapers across the region.
Winner Evie blew the judges away with her imagination, attention to detail and considerations for sustainability.
As our new ‘Grow-getter’, Evie has been awarded her own personalised planter and gardening kit, while her school has received £200 worth of gardening vouchers to create a greener, more environmentally-friendly playground.
Ryan O’Sullivan, Sales Director for the East Midlands, said: “We’re passionate about inspiring the next generation, which is why we wanted to encourage young people to take an interest in gardening and landscaping. We were delighted to name Evie the winner – while we had lots of entries, her considerations for sustainability really stood out.
