Meet the brother and sister who have just moved to the Mulberries development with their families
Moving to a new community can be a great opportunity to meet new neighbours, but the Faux family will soon see some familiar faces close to their home.
Sam, 34, and Lindsey, 37, and their two children Max and Toby recently moved into their new four bedroom home at The Mulberries, Redrow’s new development in the Essex town of Witham.
But now, Sam’s sister Olivia, 28, and her husband Jayme, 31, and daughter Mia are moving into their own four bedroom home on the same development.
Sam said: “Last summer both our families were at the park together when Lindsey and I mentioned that we were going to have a look at the new homes for sale at Redrow’s site in Witham. We all headed over the next day and both ended up reserving a home, initially we were actually going to be neighbours. But in the end Olivia and Jayme purchased an Ardleigh house type a few roads away.”
Olivia said: “We had been thinking about moving from our old home for a bit, and it seemed like a good opportunity to have a look at what else was available. We both fell instantly in love with the homes and the development and it all just took off from there. We were previously living in a new build home in Basildon, but the quality of the Redrow home really won us over. It was the small touches such as higher ceilings and traditional skirting boards that demonstrated Redrow’s attention to detail and really makes a house a home.”
With three children between them education was a consideration when deciding where to purchase.
Olivia added: “The kids are so close, it is lovely. Mia isn’t in school yet, but we know the education in Witham is really good. Hopefully they will all end up going to the same school, it will make it nice and convenient for the school run and they can look out for each other during the day.”
For Sam location was important as he commutes into London each day to work at a construction company. Trains from nearby Witham station connect to London Liverpool Street from 45 minutes. Both families used the Government backed Help to Buy scheme to purchase their new homes meaning they only required a 5% deposit, and Olivia and Jayme used our Help to Sell scheme.
The scheme helps to make moving easier by setting buyers up with up to three estate agents and contributing towards the fees – tripling the chances of making a sale and ensuring buyers don’t miss out on their dream home.
Sam commented: “I had heard about Help to Buy, but didn’t know about each step of the process or exactly how it works. It was really straightforward though and Redrow’s sales team were fantastic at explaining things and keeping in contact. Help to Buy has been so helpful as we knew we could afford the monthly mortgage payments and just needed the flexibility on the deposit that it provides.”
Both families will be in their new homes for spring and will be able to enjoy the idyllic and convenient location during the summer months.
Olivia added: “We can’t wait to be all settled in our new home with Sam and his family close by. It is going to be really lovely to be able to see each other so easily and for the children to grow up together.”
