We’ve raised a significant £20,300 in support of Brainwave, their chosen charity for the past two years.
Each year our Eastern division sponsors a different charity through organising various corporate fundraising events. However, due to the various Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns throughout 2020 and 2021 when corporate gatherings were not possible, as such, we used new tactics to fundraise, raising the money for Brainwave through the sales of furniture that previously featured in our show homes.
While one of the charity’s key centres is based locally to the division in Witham, Essex, Brainwave operates throughout the UK and has been in existence for 40 years. The organisation helps children with disabilities reach their potential through specialist therapy programmes delivered by qualified therapists.
Nicky Evans, National Fundraising Manager at Brainwave, commented:“We are delighted with the incredible support we’ve received from Redrow staff throughout the pandemic. Their generous donation will enable our therapy team to help families on a Brainwave programme through face to face and online therapy support. Children with disabilities will continue developing and reaching their milestones, ensuring they achieve greater independence and reach their full potential.A huge thank you to all staff who got involved to make a difference to many children’s lives.”
Kerry McCoubrey, Sales Director for Eastern, commented:“We are proud to have supported such a meaningful charity as Brainwave, ensuring children have access to life changing therapy. While the Covid-19 pandemic meant that we had to change our approach to fundraising over the past two years, we are incredibly happy with the overall result and amount raised. We look forward to staying in touch with Brainwave and seeing the positive impact they continue to have on the lives of local children and throughout the UK more widely.”
Located near to Brainwave’s therapy centre in Witham is Meadow View, our community of homes in Silver End, Essex. The Mulberries is also nearby, with both developments offering a combination of three- and four-bedroom homes from our award-winning Heritage Collection.
