Simon Nix and Daniel Cato, both from Lancashire, have been awarded an NHBC Seal of Excellence Award after receiving their Pride in the Job Quality Award earlier in 2019.
The accolade, established by the National House Building Council (NHBC), celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality. As first round winners, both Simon and Daniel then competed for the Seal of Excellence Awards and were two out of just eight winners from the large housebuilder category across the North West.
51-year-old Simon has been recognised for his work at our Hedgerows development in Clayton-le-Woods near Leyland. After working for Redrow for almost 10 years and scooping the Seal of Excellence for the third time Simon said it’s great to know that his and the team’s commitment to producing quality homes has paid off.
“The work we carry out on developments is continually meeting NHBC’s standards and the award is testament not only to myself, but the team working with me at The Hedgerows. Redrow is known to provide a high quality level of service and we build homes that we would want to live in ourselves.”
Simon was also named Construction Professional of the Year in the Residential Category at last year’s North West regional Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards and he then went on to win the National award at the grand finals in London in November 2018.
He added: “It was such a personal achievement to win the highest industry accolade a site manager can achieve so to then go on and win the Seal of Excellence has made it even better.”
Daniel Cato, a site manager at Oldfield Park in Poulton, has won the accolade for the second time. The 26-year-old from Fleetwood began his career on Redrow’s apprenticeship programme and said this sort of recognition makes his job even better.
“As site managers, we always endeavour to achieve the highest quality homes so receiving a Seal of Excellence award means a lot. This is for the team that works with me at Oldfield Park.”
Redrow, which this year secured the top Five Star rating by the Home Builders Federation (HBF), based on a survey of our customers in which more than 90% said they would recommend us to a friend.
The increasing number of high-achievers at Redrow is testament to our commitment to learning and development. Last year we provided employees with over 7,000 training days, delivered by our dedicated Learning & Development team.
