Lancashire developments win praise at Redrow's Building Responsibly Conference Awards
Two of Redrow’s popular Lancashire developments were praised at the builder’s annual Northern Building Responsibly Conference Awards.
Bridgewater View in Mosley Common, Greater Manchester, and The Hedgerows in Leyland both scored wins at the ceremony, at which awards were presented by ex-England rugby star Kyran Bracken.
The former scrum-half highlighted teamwork, leadership and excellence as he handed over awards – qualities both developments demonstrated in abundance.
Bridgewater View won Site of the Year, not least for its commitment to quality and its staff members consistently working together as a team.
Barry Holden, Bridgewater View site manager – who has also picked up LABC Construction Professional of the Year Award for his work on the site – collected the accolade, joined by his assistants Andy Stewart and Pete Moss and customer service manager Leonie Shorrock, who was also presented with the well-earned title of Office Personality of the Year.
Warren Thompson, regional Chief Executive for Redrow Homes, credited the staff members for their ultimate team work: “The team at Bridgewater View are a credit to the Lancashire division and to Redrow. The site team have continually demonstrated that great collaborative teamwork and the highest of standards ensures the continuous delivery of high quality homes.
In setting out to achieve such high standards has led to the development attaining a recommendation by every customer, which is an exceptional and pleasing achievement.”
As Bridgewater View also went on to win the Regional Chief Executive’s site of the year for the Northern Region, he added: “Those who work at, and lead, at Bridgewater View are a credit not only to Redrow but to themselves, and I congratulate them wholeheartedly on their well-deserved titles.”
Health, Site & Environment (H, S & E) Site of the Year was The Hedgerows, chosen for its passion for health and safety.
Site Manager Simon Nix – who in the past has picked up a raft of personal titles including NHBC Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence, NHBC Health & Safety Winner 2018 and LABC National Construction Professional of the Year 2018 – and assistant site manager Jason Booth collected the award.
Congratulating them, Warren Thompson commended them on putting health and safety, and the environment first.
“The team led by Simon work tirelessly to ensure the highest possible safety standards are set and delivered on site, and this is reflected in the quality of the work they produce. The award is well earned and we are proud of both award winners.
“Events such as the Building Responsibly Awards enable Redrow to acknowledge and pay tribute to all our teams for their hard work through the year, as well as allowing them to engage with their peers and raising standards by demonstrating good examples of regional benchmarking.”
