Whalley Cricket Club is sporting new kits after receiving a £1,500 donation from Redrow.
We have signed a three year deal to become the new T20 match and kit sponsor at the club.
The cricket club, located in the heart of the Ribble Valley, is home to three senior teams and over 100 junior members who range in age from 5 to 18, as well as a girls’ team, and regularly hosts ladies cricket festivals.
“We want to promote Whalley Cricket Club to as many people in the local area as possible,” said Paul Haworth, Junior Co-ordinator and committee member.
“Working with Redrow will build on our community relations and hopefully encourage new families to the area to come and see what our club has to offer.
“The sponsorship deal has enabled us to invest in new cricket resources and develop lifelong cricketers who, hopefully, will be the future of the club. We have a sport for all policy and strive to create a safe environment for people of all ages, and all standards, to enjoy the beautiful game. Obviously, we want to invest in elite cricketers and that is already paying dividends with some of our youth players representing the district and Lancashire County Cricket Club. It also allows us to get a great new T20 kit.”
Lesley Myers, sales manager for our Lancashire division, says helping local sports teams such as Whalley Cricket Club is testament to our commitment to support thriving communities.
“We have a responsibility not only to deliver high quality homes but to support the wider community and we were only too delighted when the cricket club approached us to help.” she added.
