Redrow’s star employees credit working with brilliant teams for making their work life so rewarding.
Voted for by their colleagues, Lindsey Flux won the company’s Lancashire Office Employee of the Year prize, while Barry Holden was named Lancashire Build Person of the Year.
Lindsey’s accolade was made extra special as she completed on her first home with her partner on the same day as the awards were announced: “It was such an emotional day,” she said. ”My partner and I had been waiting for that day for months and then to find out that my colleagues had voted for me to win was surreal.”
Lindsey, 26, started at Redrow three years ago as a marketing assistant after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in marketing. Her job includes organising advertising literature and onsite events.
She says most rewarding element of her role is being part of a great team who all work together to deliver people’s dream homes. “Seeing everything come together when developments open is really fulfilling to know that I’ve been part of a team that makes it all possible and that’s something I still get excited about.”
Site manager Barry Holden picked up the award for build person of the year for his work at Bridgewater View in Mosley Common. Barry is no stranger to winning awards having scooped his first NHBC Pride in the Job ‘Quality’ Award earlier in 2019.
Barry, 44, from Euxton, near Chorley, is typically responsible for overseeing 60 to 70 people working on site each day and he says he wouldn’t be successful without their help and support.
“It really is a two way thing, I might win the awards but I couldn’t do it without my incredible team. I truly believe in valuing every single person that works on site and rewarding them for their continued hard work is important.”
