Redrow’s new Lancashire managing director Claire Jarvis knows exactly what she wants – land!
Keen to expand the Chorley-based division’s operations, she is also looking to venture into new areas, including Salford, Tameside and the ‘belt’ between the M62 and M56 motorways.
“Our division may have ‘Lancashire’ in its title, but we already develop in some parts of Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire, primarily areas that were within the pre-1974 historic Lancashire borders.
“However, I’m now looking to push our boundaries a little further south and am keen to hear from landowners and agents with opportunities we can pursue,” said former sales director Claire, who took charge of the Chorley-based business earlier this year and was recently named in North West Insider’s Property Power list and its prestigious 42 under 42.
Ideally looking for land already allocated for housing and / or with outline consent, Claire is particularly keen to find sites for 100-plus family homes from our Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection; and even large-scale sites with potential for several hundred homes over a number of years.
“We’ve just acquired a relatively small, 14-acre site in Whittle-le-Woods, near Chorley, for just 53 new homes that we’ll deliver in 2022 but, ideally, I’m looking to acquire some sizeable sites we can develop on a longer term basis over the next few years.
“From our base at Buckshaw Village we’re still interested in sites around Chorley and Leyland, but I’m keen to find new opportunities in places like Wigan, Bolton, Salford, Oldham and Tameside, plus areas of Merseyside and Cheshire, such as St Helens, Prescot and Warrington.
Our Lancashire division has an exceptional track record for developments large and small, with everything from small pockets of large, luxurious detached houses in the Ribble Valley to largescale new communities like Buckshaw Village. Current ventures include the 236-property Taylor’s Chase development on part of the Omega site in Warrington, Cheshire, and the 249-property Bridgewater View, near Mosley Common, Greater Manchester.
