We’re offering four grants of £500 each to community groups, charities or other good causes based in, or serving, the area around our new development Willows Green in Clayton-le-Woods.
Sian Pitt, sales director for Lancashire said: “We thought it was the perfect time to invite good causes to apply for funding.
“We understand that charities and community groups have been particularly impacted by the effects of Covid. In many cases funding has been hard to come by and social distancing has made it difficult for people to access the support they rely on.
“We wanted to not only help them overcome some of the challenges Covid has presented them with, but to also start the new year on a positive note and bring some happiness to the local community around Willows Green.”
Our Lancashire division has recently donated £5,000 linked with the launch of our Worden Gardens in Leyland. Twelve groups including a mental health charity and a charity that organises ‘smiles’ for children through tough times benefited.
We’re now inviting suggestions of how the new community grants can be distributed to help other groups.
“These community grants are designed to support small projects at the heart of local life that can potentially make a big difference. It could be to buy new tables for a community hall, sponsor a sports team or provide outdoor play equipment for a toddler group,” Sian added.
The community grants are in addition to the £380,000 of contributions we’ve made to the local community around our developments in Clayton-le-Wood as part of the planning process. These include funding for affordable housing, playing pitches and community allotments.
Located off Parkhurst Avenue, our latest venture, Willows Green, will feature 26 detached three and four-bedroom family homes.
Those wishing to nominate a project for us to consider supporting should email email@example.com to request an application form, stating ‘Willows Green Community Grants’ in the subject line. The deadline for completed applications is midnight on February 3rd, 2021.
