Luxury West London homes take highly commended title in industry awards
A luxury development in Ealing, West London has been singled out as one of the best small developments in London by industry leading publication, Evening Standard Homes & Property.
Redrow London’s bespoke Walpole Collection has been Highly Commended by the newspaper in their annual New Homes Awards, for its innovative design and architecture, which has transformed the former Edwardian children’s home into six beautiful properties. The unique and clever design of the development is thought be behind the success of the scheme, which has just recently sold its final property.
The Highly Commended title was awarded to the now-completed Walpole Collection during the prestigious award ceremony, which recognises outstanding design and innovation in homes across the capital. The development, which comprises of four Edwardian mansions and two contemporary developments, fought off stiff competition in the Best Small Development category to claim the title.
The Walpole Collection stood out in the category for its high specification and design that engages seamlessly with the local area and environment. Expert judges acknowledged the development for the use of the finest materials to ensure the homes are in-keeping with the period character of the properties.
Celebrating its 22nd anniversary, the Evening Standard Homes & Property award ceremony was held at the Dorchester Hotel, London. From a shortlist of 127 entries, with awards ranging from Best First-Time Buy to The Eco-Living Award, the ceremony acknowledged some of best homes currently being developed across the city.
Mary Timlin, Sales and Marketing Director of Redrow Homes London, said: “We are extremely delighted that the Walpole Collection has been recognised as a development that has helped to lead the way in design and architecture for small developments in the capital.
“London is one of the most competitive property market places in the world and it is an honour that the Walpole Collection now stands amongst an elite group of developments that set the bar in design.
“We are confident that the thoughtful design has significantly contributed to the success of the scheme, which has just recently sold the last remaining property at the development.
“We are committed to ensuring that all of the luxury homes we build are made with the finest material and craftsmanship, and this title is a testament to the team’s exacting standards and dedication to building high quality homes for the city.”
The Walpole Collection boasts outstanding design, with the use of roof slates, iron rainwater pipes and timber sliding slash windows to complement the development’s original Edwardian architecture. In addition, the villas present an eco-friendly lifestyle through the use of solar panels, low energy lighting and energy efficient appliances whilst ensuring they remain in harmony with the Edwardian style of the development.
The three-storied mansions that also make up the development provide a luxurious and spacious family home, with six large bedrooms alongside a large lounge, open plan family room and dining room.
The two villas, which make up the rest of the collection, feature five bedrooms designed to the highest standard and include an exquisite master bedroom suite containing a dressing room and terrace, three double bedrooms and a generous guest suite. The modern and contemporary approach to design has ensured that rooms are spacious and light-filled.
The Walpole Collection lies adjacent to the 28-acre Walpole Park and has a full range of facilities and services, including excellent transport links - all in close proximity to the development.
