Four awards in four weeks for the Redrow London team
The first wins of the month were received at The Bricks 2018 awards, which celebrate the best in housebuilding and recognises the exceptional work of companies and individuals who stand out and go the extra mile to deliver quality in construction.
We were named Overall Developer of the Year and then went on to receive the accolade of Multi-Storey Development of the Year for the second year in a row, at a dazzling ceremony held at Heron Tower, London.
The judges praised us for the work the teams are doing to transform a former Metropolitan Police training college into Colindale Gardens, a thriving new community that will be home to over 6,000 people, alongside nine acres of public green space, cafes, shops, restaurants and even a new three-form entry primary school. The development will provide much-needed homes for families in London, first-time buyers and young professionals, as well as a new high street for Colindale.
The Bricks 2018 judges said: “The project team at Colindale Gardens are professional and driven to ensure the best processes are in place to maintain progress in production, thereby offering the best quality. The culture is good and the apartments provide excellent homes that people desire to live in. The project is a credit to Redrow, their Management and their Site team.”
Next up was the UK Property Awards, which celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry, providing winners with a world-renowned mark of excellence.
The awards were held at a ceremony at the Royal Lancaster, London, and this time it was The West Works, our latest development in Southall, which took home the award for the best ‘Retail Interior’ for The West Works marketing suite.
The sites impressive marketing suite and two-bedroom show apartment has been designed so visitors can appreciate the space, layout and specification. The judges recognised us for our attention to detail which is evident across all corners of the show home, with spacious rooms, clever storage, a separate utility area and high-quality appliances featured throughout.
Lastly, the team attended the What House? Awards in November. These awards are often described as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry, and now in their 37th year, were hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, sports presenter Gabby Logan and former England Rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio in front of more than 1,600 people at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London.
Colindale Gardens was awarded Bronze for ‘Best Public Realm’. The judges commended us for our work to ensure the integration of parkland and communal spaces within the Colindale Gardens development, including a high steel community sculpture, habitats to encourage wildlife, networks for walking and cycling paths, and a four-acre park.
Simon Halfhide, Sales Director for Redrow said: “We work hard to create high-quality homes and great places to live for our customers, although our buyers come first it is also fantastic to see our commitment celebrated across the industry. We strive to create thriving new communities across London and pleased to offer our customers a better way to live. We are delighted to be recognised for our success.”
