Get a glimpse of modern and luxurious family life on offer at Colindale Gardens
The interior of a townhouse at Redrow’s flagship Colindale Gardens development in London has been transformed by expert local designers.
The modern home has been designed to incorporate luxurious touches and references to the surrounding greenery through a colour palette of olive and teal. Colindale Gardens is a short train ride into Kings Cross, and expert designers for North West London properties, New i.d Interiors, have designed the townhouse with families who wish to reside outside of the city, but still be within close proximity to the hustle and bustle of central London in mind.
The townhouses at Colindale Gardens offer ample, well planned space ideally suited to modern family life, which is reflected throughout the interior design. The open plan kitchen has been designed with a large dining table to cater for the whole family. Maintaining a homely feel was always a priority, so the design is complete with contemporary ‘homely touches’ throughout, including a display of cookbooks which brings the space to life and encourages families to make the most of the generous kitchen space.
The family appeal continues throughout the home, with the living room featuring a hard-wood floor, installed with the practicalities of raising a family in mind, while a plush velvet sofa set against a backdrop of coral pink and an abundance of abstract artwork ensures the space still exudes luxury. A sensory engaging children’s bedroom can be found to the upstairs, which combines a range of materials, textures and pastel colours to create a calm oasis for children to enjoy. Tropical print, opulent green and an array of flora has been placed throughout the home, to reflect the extensive outdoor space, including a central four acre park, which is being provided at Colindale Gardens – effectively bringing the outdoors, indoors.
The ‘wow’ factor
Simon Halfhide, Sales Director at Colindale Gardens, said: “Colindale Gardens, with over nine acres of parkland, playgrounds, a three-form school and onsite shops, offers families the ideal place to call home.
“The townhouse effectively encapsulates the Colindale Gardens development – ideal for families, but certainly not exclusive to them. It radiates modernity and is a welcoming space with a luxurious undertone. Although the development has fantastic links to central London, Colindale is accurately viewed as a leafy suburb and I am pleased to see this reflected throughout the show home.
“We are extremely pleased to have worked with local interior designers, New i.d Interiors, who are experts on the area and has reflected all that the development represents within the design.”
Victoria Kember, interior designer at New i.d Interiors, added: "The brief for this property was to create modern, luxurious home suitable for both families and young professionals. I wanted to create something pared back with a punch of vibrant colour, so with Living Coral Pantone's colour of 2019, this was an immediate starting point when creating the interior.
"For us, it was important that this house had a 'wow' factor as soon as you enter it and we combined coral with teal and olive tones to ground the space."
Green space and excellent connections
Colindale Gardens is set across 47 acres and priority has been given to delivering extensive green open space – a rarity for London. Nine acres of the development site will be parkland and a number of sports pitches and play parks are also planned. Once complete Colindale Gardens will provide residents and the wider community with shops, restaurants and cafes. An onsite resident’s gym, sauna and steam room and a 24 hour concierge will all help to make life more convenient.
Despite its green surroundings Colindale is superbly connected. From Colindale underground station, located adjacent to the site, residents can reach central London in under half an hour. The night tube, which currently runs via the Charing Cross branch of the Northern Line, provides 24 hour connections from Colindale to central London stations Tottenham Court Road, Embankment and Waterloo at the weekend. Redrow is investing £11 million into transport including significant improvements to Colindale Station.
Prices for a one-bedroom apartment at Colindale Gardens start from £375,000 while the three and four bedroom houses start from £725,000.
