Help to buy launches on new family homes in south west London
Families are being offered the rare opportunity to purchase a three-bedroom house in London with Help to Buy.
The contemporary new homes form the second phase of Redrow’s Millfields development in South West London, following the successful sell-out of phase one in summer 2018.
All 41 homes at the site are available with Help to Buy. Since the end of April, buyers have been able to use the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which is rarely available on units of this size in London, to purchase a new three-storey townhouse with just a 5 per cent deposit, a 40 per cent equity loan and a 55 per cent mortgage. The rest will be provided by the Government as an equity loan, which is interest-free for five years.
Millfields is comprised of three bedroom townhouses, all of which have been designed to meet the demands of modern day family living, complete with fully fitted kitchens and a full range of integrated appliances. The houses are all generously sized with ample space for the whole family with a large open-plan kitchen and dining area and a separate lounge. Two of the three double bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom and the homes all have an additional family bathroom and cloakroom. To top it off, every property has its own garage and a private back garden.
‘A real sense of community’
London’s Hackbridge offers a unique blend of bustling town and country village. Set in a peaceful riverside setting, and surrounded by green space, the homes are ideally located for those looking to raise a family. The homes at Millfields are just a 10-minute walk from Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Culvers House Primary School and a six-minute drive from Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Melrose Secondary School. The houses are also superbly connected to the City and the West End of London, as both Hackbridge and Mitcham Junction stations offer quick links to Blackfriars and Victoria in under 25 minutes, whilst Clapham Junction is just 13 minutes away.
James Holmear, Sales Director at our East London division, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer buyers the opportunity to purchase with London Help to Buy at our Millfields development. Phase one saw first time buyers and families alike take advantage of the great value for money. Buyers are enjoying the opportunity to get a secure step onto the property ladder, purchasing a home which they’ll be able to enjoy for many years. It is great to be able to give this cohort of the market the helping hand which is usually reserved for first-time buyers.
“The majority of interest so far has been from buyers currently living in neighbouring Wimbledon and Clapham, attracted to the better price per square foot that Hackbridge offers. The excellent schools and nurseries, as well as nearby Mitcham Common, help to create a real sense of community. Perfect for those looking for a quieter life.”
Prices for the new homes start at £575,000 and all homes fall under London Help to Buy. To find out more information about our Millfields development visit www.redrow.co.uk/millfields
