Celebrations as new gym is launched at Colindale Gardens
A brand new gym has been opened at one of Redrow’s flagship London developments.
Health and wellness coach Ben Foulis was invited along to celebrate the launch of the residents’ gym at Colindale Gardens, and he spoke to staff about how they can create the strongest and healthiest versions of themselves.
The aim of the session was for each person to take away how they could make sustainable lifestyle changes for a healthier future.
The session covered nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress reduction, investment and sustainability – helping the audience to increase productivity, achieve greater levels of happiness, and improve their physical strength. A Q&A session at the end provided Ben with the opportunity to address our employees’ individual queries about their health and wellbeing.
Now complete, the state-of-the-art gym will be managed by residential property management company Rendall & Rittner, and offers all the equipment necessary to help residents live a healthy lifestyle.
Spanning over 47 acres, the site will be home to over 6,000 people upon completion. Alongside a new state of the art gym, sauna and steam room, Colindale Gardens will also incorporate retail and commercial space, with plans for a local convenience branch of a supermarket, a deli, or a newsagent.
Residents will also have access to a dedicated 24-hour concierge service, as well as an onsite primary school, and nine acres of landscaped gardens, walkways and cycle paths.
Simon Halfhide, sales director at our West London division, said: “The launch of the new gym at Colindale Gardens is just the start of the wealth of new facilities we are providing residents. It is fantastic to reach this first community milestone, which will be followed later in the summer with the opening of our four-acre park.
“The launch was a fantastic opportunity to invite Ben onto the site to educate staff on how we can all improve our fitness and wellbeing, which was both informative and inspirational. Valuing people and partners is at the heart of our business so it is very important that we offer opportunities to learn how to take care of ourselves better.”
Providing health and fitness advice to employees also aligns with our health and wellbeing programme ‘My Life’. Under this initiative we have launched 15 ‘health kiosks’ across each of our regional divisions as well as selected developments. Each of the kiosks is open to our employees and sub-contractors to determine their physical, mental, social and financial wellbeing to allow us to ensure we are offering the best possible support.
