Christmas came early at Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton when Redrow paid a visit armed with gifts.
Redrow staff were joined by students from the University of Wolverhampton who helped distribute presents to patients and day centre service users.
Deborah Purchase, area sales manager for Redrow Homes, said: “Christmas is the season of goodwill and as Compton Hospice is just a stone’s throw away from our new homes at Compton Park we were keen to do the neighbourly thing and show our support.
“We wanted to ensure that the gifts were more than just a token gesture and so we worked with care staff to ensure that we sourced appropriate presents that would be appreciated by patients. It was a pleasure to meet everyone and help spread some Christmas joy.”
Patients Diane Gee and Jan Davidson were among those to have benefitted.
Diane said: “It’s a really kind and thoughtful gesture for Redrow to buy gifts for all of the patients at the hospice.”
Jan added: “The students who helped them deliver the presents were great too, they had so much spirit.”
Redrow had previously sponsored second year business management students Alex Stanley, Martin Smith, Matthew Slater and Adam Winn, who raised money for the hospice as part of their degree course at the University of Wolverhampton.
Building on that relationship, Redrow enlisted students to assist with handing out the presents.
Grace Ruston, PR & marketing officer for Compton Hospice said “We can’t thank Redrow enough for their kindness and generosity in providing Christmas gifts for our patients. Between them Redrow and the students helped patients get into the festive spirit”
