With Pershore house prices rising 20% in the last year and economists predicting further increases, buying one of the final homes at Abbey Meadows could be a savvy move.
According to latest Land Registry figures, average prices in the area have rocketed over the last 12 months with the average property in the market town now selling for £244,178.
The final properties at Redrow’s Abbey Meadows development in Pershore are competitively priced from £184,995.
But with limited availability and the CEBR (Centre for Economics and Business Research) predicting prices nationally will rise by 3.5% in 2016 and 4.2% in 2017, buying now could be seen as a good investment.
Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), said: “Because the homes at Abbey Meadows look very traditional, taking inspiration from the architecture of the Arts & Crafts era, the development looks very much like an established neighbourhood, particularly as the majority of properties are now sold and occupied. What people may not realise is that we still have homes available and if they buy now they could beat the price increases predicted by economists.”
The final properties at Abbey Meadows include the two-bedroom Evesham priced from £184,995.
With the aid of Help to Buy the initial cost could be reduced to £147,178 including a 5% customer deposit of around £9,250. Customers who buy in this way should only need a 75% mortgage from their chosen lender as the remaining 20% is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years.
The Evesham includes a well equipped kitchen to the front, with a combined lounge and dining room to the rear. There’s also a handy space for the washer dryer, plus a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs, both bedrooms are generously proportioned with each benefitting from its own en-suite.
