With Hinckley house prices rising 4% in the last year and economists predicting further increases, buying in the area now could be a savvy move.
According to latest Land Registry figures prices in the area are 13% up on 2007 levels, with the average detached property selling for £267,331.
By comparison, a four-bedroom detached Shrewsbury style home available now at Redrow’s Park View development, in Hinckley, is competitively priced at £257,995.
And as the CEBR (Centre for Economics and Business Research) is predicting prices nationally will rise by 3.5% in 2016 and 4.2% in 2017, buying now could be seen as a good investment.
Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), said: “Building work is progressing at Park View, where we’ll soon be welcoming the first residents. As people see the development take shape it’s prompting further enquiries both from locals and those looking to move into the area. Thanks to Hinckley’s strong commuter links we’ve had interest from people living in Birmingham, Coventry and London.
“We have homes that will be ready to move into by early 2016 which could mean those who act now are able to beat the rises predicted by economists.”
Current availability at Park View includes a three-bedroom semi-detached Letchworth priced at £224,995 and a choice of four-bedroom detached designs.
They’re all available with Help to Buy equity loans, which could reduce the initial cost. Customers who purchase in this way should only need a 5% deposit, plus a 75% mortgage to secure a new home. The remaining 20% is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years.
The new homes are being built close to the green spaces and sports pitches of Clarendon Park with local shops on Rugby Road to cater for homeowners’ daily
needs. The town centre is within walking distance, offering a wider choice of shops, plus regular markets.
With Westfield Infants and Junior Schools less than 10 minutes’ walk away, the homes are ideal for buyers with children.
The local train station is just a five minute drive or 15 minute walk away. Trains whisk passengers to Leicester in under 20 minutes, Birmingham in 35 minutes and Coventry within an hour. Even London can be reached within 90 minutes, including driving to the station.
Show homes at Park View are open daily from 10am to 5.30pm. For more information call 01455698229 or see www.redrow.co.uk/parkview
