With 85% of the homes now sold, buyers will need to act fast if they want to call Redrow’s popular Trenchwood Gardens development in Telford ‘home’.
Once home to an iron, gas and rubber works, the former industrial site on Sommerfield Road has now been completely transformed with high quality housing and is a well established neighbourhood.
And while the vast majority of the properties have been sold, there’s still a good choice of three and four-bedroom designs available.
Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), says: “Over the last four years we’ve given this former industrial site a total makeover to create a highly desirable new neighbourhood where people really want to live. In that time we’ve clocked up an impressive sales rate and we have now sold 85% of the 230-plus properties. Demand is such that we’ve also sold two of the three showhomes, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still lots to choose from. We have a selection of three and four-bedroom homes available, each boasting the same high specification that’s made Trenchwood Gardens a popular choice with buyers.”
Current prices at Trenchwood Gardens start from £184,995 for a three-bedroom detached Warwick. There’s also a selection of four-bedroom detached homes, including a Cambridge that will soon be ready to move into.
Priced at £239,995, the Cambridge offers 1,345 square feet of well planned, family friendly accommodation. At its heart and spanning the width of the property, is an open plan kitchen, dining area and family room with patio doors onto the back garden. This inviting, sociable space is complemented by a separate lounge for quieter moments. A utility and cloakroom complete the ground floor.
Upstairs, the master bedroom benefits from an en-suite to complement the family bathroom.
Help to Buy equity loans are available and could enable would-be homeowners to purchase a property sooner rather than later.
“It’s two years since Help to Buy equity loans were introduced, but we’re still finding that some people don’t fully understand the scheme or what it means for them,” Pauline adds.
“In simple terms, someone with savings of around £12,000 could find they have enough for a 5% deposit on the four-bedroom detached Cambridge at Trenchwood Gardens. They should then only need a 75% mortgage from their chosen lender as the remaining 20% is covered by the equity loan. Crucially, the equity loan is interest free for five years.”
