Wolverhampton based site manager Dave Dodd is celebrating after scooping a second consecutive Pride in the Job ‘Quality’ Award.
Dave, 44, from Cannock, was among a record number of Redrow employees to receive the prestigious industry award.
The FTSE 250 housebuilder’s 24 winners are part of an elite group of just 430 site managers to receive Pride in the Job ‘Quality’ Awards from the NHBC (National House Building Council) this year.
Dave earned the accolade for overseeing construction of new Redrow homes at the exclusive Compton Park development in Wolverhampton.
“I didn’t want to be a one hit wonder,” said Dave, who also won a ‘Quality’ award in 2015.
“It was harder to win this year as there’s higher demand from customers, but I’ve managed to not only maintain but improve the high standards that we already achieve on site. On a typical day there are 40 to 50 people working on site and it’s a team effort. The award helps to keep everyone positive and also gives customers a reassurance as to the quality of their home.”
Highlighting excellence in the field for 35 years, Pride in the Job is dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in housebuilding. Around 15,000 site managers undergo the judging process in small, medium, large and specialist housebuilder categories.
Dave will attend the NHBC gala dinner (known as the site managers’ Oscars) in October, where the Seal of Excellence and Regional Winner are announced.
John Tutte, Redrow’s group chief executive, said: “We’re very proud of all of our winning site managers, and delighted that a record number of them have been recognised.
“It’s a rigorous judging process and only the best in the business receive the ‘Quality’ awards. For us as a company, it provides further evidence that we’re reaching the pinnacle in terms of the quality of our product and our standards of build. It also offers an opportunity to benchmark our achievements against our competitors and we’re delighted to know that we have 24 of the industry’s very best site managers within our ranks.”
Judging for the awards began 12 months ago and includes spot checks of the day-to-day running of sites, plus assessment across 38 areas of site management, including each manager’s technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.
Now an established neighbourhood were people really want to live, there are only a few four and five-bedroom homes available at Compton Park.
