New homes to be built near Rugby will result in more than £5 million being invested in the community, Redrow has pledged.
The award-winning housebuilder has acquired land on Coventry Road, Cawston, close to its hugely popular Cawston Grange development where the final home was sold early last year.
The new venture, known as Cawston Meadows, will give buyers a fresh chance to own a brand new home from Redrow’s sought-after Heritage Collection of Arts & Crafts influenced designs. It will also see considerable investment in the local area with funding allocated to schools, sports facilities, play areas and even allotments.
Along with the 68 private sale properties, Redrow will build 45 reduced cost homes to meet local housing needs.
Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), said: “We’ve already begun building a database of potential purchasers keen to move to Cawston Meadows, including some people who missed out at our previous development. We know from that success that there’s a huge demand for new homes like ours in Cawston and would encourage buyers to contact us sooner rather than later to find out more about the properties available.
“While our core business is building new homes – which is helping to address the UK’s well documented housing shortage – we’re also keen to ensure that our developments are sustainable and support the communities in which they sit. Our £5 million investment in the local area will provide 45 affordable homes, including one, two and three-bedroom properties, and will include open space with play facilities within the development.
“We’ll also help improve open space in the surrounding area and fund new and upgraded sports facilities including those at the Queens Diamond Jubilee Centre. Existing allotments at Bilton Poor Lands will be enhanced, plus we’ll finance the creation of new allotments at a cost of £30,000.”
Other beneficiaries of funding from Redrow include facilities at Assheton Recreation Ground and Dunchurch Community library.
Four and five-bedroom homes at Cawston Meadows are due to be released for sale in June, with show homes scheduled to open in September.
Externally the properties will look very traditional, taking inspiration from the Arts & Crafts era; while inside they will be bright and modern, with a high specification as standard.
