A HUSBAND and wife, plus two school friends are among the latest additions to the growing sales team at Redrow’s Midlands business.
Five new sales consultants have been recruited by the Tamworth-based homebuilder, which has launched seven new developments in five locations across the Midlands in recent months.
Jack Robinson and wife Megan, are selling new homes at Knightlow Park in Harborne and Church View in Stafford respectively; Abigail Southall is working at Priory Park, also in Stafford; while Emily Salisbury divides her time between Hamilton Gardens near Leicester and Amington Garden Village in Tamworth, where she works alongside school friend Beth Mugleston.
Jack, 27, from Sutton Coldfield has seven years’ experience of working in new homes sales and submitted his CV speculatively at Megan’s suggestion. Megan has also now joined the Redrow team.
“We have a friend who lives in a Redrow home and we love the houses,” Jack, said.
“The Redrow product is so different to the boxy design with small gardens that people expect from new builds. Redrow offers a traditional finish but with modern interiors – it’s the best of both worlds with a timeless look that won’t age or date the properties. I previously thought I wouldn’t buy a new build but now I want to buy a Redrow home.”
He added: “I can see myself staying here for years because I absolutely love it.”
In fact Jack enjoyed working at Redrow so much that Megan, a former receptionist, applied to join the team.
“Redrow are at the top of new homes sales and I’m really grateful to be working here in my first role in the industry. I don’t want to work anywhere else.”
Jack and Megan’s personal circumstances will help them relate to first time buyers in particular.
“We were spending so much on rent that we moved in with Jack’s parents while we save saving to buy our first home. We hope to buy our own home next summer and would like it to be a Redrow home,” Megan added.
Meanwhile, Emily Salisbury, 21, from Ashby, has moved from her original role as a sales administrator to become a sales consultant.
“I really enjoy working at Redrow so when I wanted a new challenge I was keen to stay with the company,” she explained.
“The highlight so far has been my first reservation. The customers came into view the show homes one day, I went through the plots and the site plan and they came back the very next day to reserve.”
Beth Mugleston, also 21 and from Ashby, joined the team after graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a 2:1 in forensic psychology in the summer.
“I went to school with Emily who was already working for Redrow and suggested I apply,” Beth explained.
“I live in a new build home and remembered visiting different developments with my mum before we moved. I knew some of the processes involved, but there’s a lot more to it than I’d initially considered. It’s important to keep up to date with what’s happening on site and where the plots are up to. It can be fun helping customers make their design choices.”
Abigail Southall, 26, from Wolverhampton, previously worked in schools supporting children with special needs.
“I bought my first house two years ago and thought I’d enjoy helping other homebuyers, giving them as much information as possible and making it as stress free as possible form them,” Abigail said.
“The people and the training from Redrow have made it really easy to settle into the role. The highlight was my first sale – I absolutely loved it and will always remember it.”
