SALES of new homes close to a former airfield in Fradley, near Lichfield, are preparing for take-off with a show home due to open this Saturday (September 23).
Hundreds of prospective purchasers have registered their interest in new Redrow homes being built on land neighbouring an ex-airbase once used to train aircrew using Wellington Bombers.
Aptly named Wellington Place, the development will offer 52 homes from the sought-after Heritage Collection in a choice of two, three and four-bedroom styles.
Buyers will be able to feast their eyes on a professionally styled and fully furnished Cambridge style show home to give them an insight into the quality and finish of the designs.
Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), said: “We’ve received hundreds of enquiries from people eager to buy at Wellington Place. Some are so keen that they’ve already identified the exact home they want to buy, including the property style and where on the development they want to live. And that’s before we’ve even confirmed the house prices or when the properties will be ready to move into. We’d encourage those hoping to buy here to visit the show home at the earliest opportunity.”
The design of the Cambridge, with its canopied porch, is a prime example of how Redrow’s Heritage Collection combines the best of old and new.
Behind its traditional Arts & Crafts inspired façade, it’s bright and modern, with a convivial open plan kitchen, dining and family room at the heart of family life. This sociable space is complemented by the separate lounge, while the utility keeps the washer and dryer out of the kitchen.
Upstairs, the master bedroom benefits from an en-suite, leaving the family bathroom to serve the remaining three bedrooms.
Prices for the properties at Wellington Place will be announced at the launch.
Potential purchasers are encouraged to access My Redrow, the exclusive members’ only area of the Redrow website, where they will be able to make appointments with the sales team, explore the designs and select the finish of their home.
Located on Hay End Lane, the new homes are being built close to the Coventry Canal, just half a mile from the centre of Fradley village.
“People want to be part of a community and the homes at Wellington Place are ideally placed to enable homeowners to embrace village life. The village hall, skate park and ball court, primary school, post office and village green are all within a 10-minute walk; while Lichfield is 10 minutes away by car,” Pauline added.
Along with the homes, Redrow will create a play area within the development and there will also be an area of public open space.
To help ensure that the growth of the neighbourhood is sustainable, Redrow has committed to a package of community investment known as a section 106 agreement totalling £900,000, including around £700,000 allocated to local education.
To be among the first to see inside the show home, visit Wellington Place this Saturday (September 23) between 10am and 5.30pm. For more information and to register your interest in the homes, call 01543 331688 or see www.redrow.co.uk/wellington.
