Brothers buy same Redrow house in different locations
So it was no surprise when they both fell for the same Redrow house design, the three-bedroom Leamington.
However Peter is quick to point out the difference between the Redrow home he’s bought and his brother Alistair’s 50 miles away.
Peter and wife Carol recently moved into a three-bedroom Leamington at Amington Garden Village in Tamworth and the ground floor is a mirror image of the home Alistair and his wife Joan have bought in Shrewsbury.
“My brother Alistair was waiting for his new Redrow home in Shrewsbury to be built and mentioned the Leamington and so we came to see the show home at Amington Garden Village. We knew when we walked in we had to have it,” Peter recalls.
Sister Nicola was the first born of the triplets, followed by Peter and then Alistair. As identical twins within a set of triplets, there have been several instances of the brothers buying the same item over the years including birthday cakes for their mum and computers while living in different countries.
Both brothers love that Redrow’s Leamington design features an expansive kitchen, dining and family room spanning the width of the property, complemented by a separate lounge.
Upstairs their chosen homes do differ slightly, as Peter explains: “We have three bedrooms with en suites, which I thought was fantastic. Alistair has a big family bathroom and only an en suite to the main bedroom. We do have a bit of banter about the houses and I play him up about having more bathrooms. His has render on the front, mine doesn’t. My cloakroom is on the right, his is on the left.”
Peter, previously lived in Wilnecote and had seen the value of his old home there increase when Redrow built nearby. After subsequently moving to Sutton Coldfield they are now returning to the Tamworth area.
“My wife and I love the house. As we turn off Mercian Way into the development we get a good feeling that we’re coming home. The location is perfect as we both work at the hospital in Sutton Coldfield, which is 20 minutes away by car,” Peter adds.
He described the Redrow team at Amington Garden Village as “very accommodating and professional”.
“Chris, Donna, Andy and the team were welcoming every time we visited and couldn’t do enough to help us. The whole experience has been exceptional. I can’t fault Redrow,” Peter says.
Having moved from an older property to a brand new home, he’s enjoying the ease of living it offers.
“Our lives have changed for the better 100% since moving,” Peter adds.
“We have two zones for the central heating, which is a massive plus and even when I’ve walked in and the heating hasn’t been on it isn’t chilled. I can safely say we won’t have to do any repairs in the next few years, which is a massive bonus.”
