Double celebration for top apprentice employer Redrow
Cheshire-based Redrow trainee Liam Sargeant, 20, from Warrington, was also a winner at the CITB Apprenticeship Awards, held at Plaisterers Hall, London, where he scooped the titles of England Apprentice of the Year and overall GB Apprentice of the Year. Former apprentice Liam has now been promoted to trainee site assistant.
Later the same day Redrow was named Large Employer of the Year at the National Apprenticeship Awards’ regional ceremony for West Midlands, organised by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and held at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham.
Karen Jones, HR director for Redrow, said: “It’s a huge achievement to win both awards and it’s particularly rewarding that our efforts to promote apprenticeships and support young people have been recognised.
“It’s with great pride that we also congratulate our apprentice Liam Sargeant who already, at such a young age, has a host of awards under his belt. We look forward to seeing his career progress to great heights.
“Housebuilding is a diverse and complex industry that can offer a fast-paced and interesting work environment.
