Redrow links up with British Home Awards
Organised by the Sunday Times British Homes Awards, the hotly-contested ‘Homes for Britain’ competition is being partnered by Redrow in 2015.
This year the initiative has sought entries for a standard house-type for developers to build, that features a garden, innovative design and eco features. In addition, the criterion demands all submissions to be easily replicable and buildable. The winning design could then be built by Redrow at one of its UK developments.
Six-short listed designs for the 2015 competition have been revealed, with voting now open until October 4, via an online portal: www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/bha. The finalists are also on display at a gallery exhibit at The Building Centre in Store Street, London.
Amongst the eye-catching ideas include an intriguing ‘urban barn’ concept, as well as several home designs that incorporate garden features over three storeys.
Dave Bexon, sales and marketing director for Redrow, said: “At Redrow we are always looking to stay one step ahead of the competition through innovations in quality, design and specification. It was therefore an obvious choice for us to support this prestigious competition, which looks to shine a light on the future of British house building and design.
“We have been impressed by all six shortlisted entries and I would encourage all those with an interest in design and architecture to view the submissions online.”
Also commenting, Mike Gazzard, director of the Sunday Times British Homes Awards, said: “Redrow have a strong relationship with the British Homes Awards, having previously won the ‘Best Large Development’ award for its Glynderwen Meadows homes in South Wales in 2013. As a leading UK housebuilder that prides itself on its traditional yet high quality designs, Redrow is a hugely welcome partner of our 2015 ‘Homes for Britain’ competition.”
