Santa's stopping at Regents Grange for Chester charity event
REDROW is hoping to spread some festive spirit and seasonal goodwill when it hosts a special charity Christmas event at Regents Grange in Huntington.
‘Santa Stops at Regents Grange’ takes place from noon to 4pm this Saturday (December 9) in aid of two charities close to home for Redrow staff – the North West Air Ambulance and Macmillan Cancer Support
Debra Millican, fundraiser for the North West Air Ambulance Charity, said: “The North West Air Ambulance Charity is grateful to Redrow for giving us the chance to be part of the Christmas event at Regents Grange to help us raise vital funds. Between them our three helicopters undertake more than 2,000 missions a year providing pre-hospital treatment to people in a variety of circumstances. We need to raise £8.5million per annum to keep our helicopters in the air – giving the gift of time”
Amy Hulston, fundraising manager for Macmillan in Cheshire said: “There are 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK and being diagnosed with cancer is now one of the most common life-changing events in people’s lives. It’s great to see Redrow and the community at Regents Grange raising funds for Macmillan. We provide practical, emotional and personal support to people affected by cancer every year, but Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for those we help.”
The event will feature entertainment from a brass band, pop choir and local children from Saighton Primary School.
Visitors, including existing and potential customers and people from the local community, will get the chance to join in the cheer with a visit from Santa himself and enjoy scrummy seasonal goodies including hot chocolate and delicious spiced mulled wine.
There will also be raffles and a host of other activities to get everyone in the holiday mood.
The event will be officially opened by Sheriff of Chester, Cllr Jane Mercer and her consort David Challen.
Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Christmas is very much a time for giving and we have chosen to raise funds for Macmillan and the North West Air Ambulance this year because members of our team have personal link to those charities. We’d encourage people to come along to the event and embrace the season of goodwill in aid of two very worthy causes.”
The ‘Santa Stops at Regents Grange’ event takes place from noon to 4pm on Saturday, December 9.
