Redrow tunes in to charity concert
A hospital fundraising appeal is hoping to hit the high notes thanks to sponsorship from Redrow Homes.
The award-winning developer has teamed up with R Charity to support R Magical Christmas Concert. R Charity is the working name for the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospital Charitable Funds and is raising money to enhance facilities for patients and families at the new Royal hospital.
Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson has gifted the use of St George’s Hall for the event on December 4; while sponsorship from local businesses including Redrow will help cover the cost of staging the concert so that all money raised will go direct to the charity.
Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “We’re proud to be able to support R Charity again, having sponsored its Summer Solstice Walk earlier this year. Our £1,000 contribution towards staging the concert will help the fundraising appeal hit the high notes for the benefit of patients and families at the new hospital. The concert will be just the ticket for those who want to get into the festive spirit and raise money for such a worthy cause.”
During the concert former patients of the Royal will give readings. It will also include traditional and contemporary Christmas songs and carols performed by the Liverpool Harmonic Gospel Choir and Royal Liverpool Hospital Choir, Carleton House Preparatory School choir and Booker Avenue Junior School choir.
Rebecca Grime, R Charity’s head of fundraising, said: “We’re grateful to Redrow for their continued support and it’s only thanks to our corporate sponsors that all money raised through tickets sales can go direct to the appeal. Tickets for R Magical Christmas Concert are selling fast and we’re urging those who want to be part of this festive fundraiser to buy their tickets now.”
Tickets are available from £8 for concessions or £10 for adults. Family tickets (two adults, two children) are £25. For details call 0151 706 3153 or visit the fundraising office in the main reception at the Royal.
