Time to buy in Lancashire
Mortgage lending is at a five year high and home loans are said to be at their most affordable for over a decade, suggesting now is the time to buy a brand new home in central Lancashire.
During the summer months there were unseasonal increases in house prices as the housing market showed signs of recovery. Now as industry experts predict further price rises fuelled by a growth in demand and consumer confidence, Redrow is holding a weekend of events in Chorley and Walmer Bridge, near Preston to help get people moving.
Help to Buy, the scheme that makes homeownership more affordable with the aid of an equity loan, will be explained at The Orchard at Buckshaw Village, near Chorley on Saturday (September 14) and at Sandhurst Gardens, Chorley on Sunday (September 15).
Over at The Chase in Walmer Bridge on Saturday, Redrow will be explaining how homeowners can sell their current property quickly using its Mastermove service, putting them in the position to buy a brand new Redrow home.
Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “News that mortgages are at their most affordable for 14 years and that lending is at a five year high has almost certainly bolstered consumer confidence. We’ve seen an increase in enquiries across our developments in recent months as people realise that securing a mortgage is perhaps easier than they anticipated. We’re helping to make moving home even simpler with a weekend of events to explain the incentives available.
“At The Orchard and Sandhurst Gardens we’ll be guiding visitors through Help to Buy, explaining that it’s not just for first time buyers as it can also be used to purchase a bigger property to accommodate a growing family or by those starting over after a change of circumstances. They should only need a relatively small deposit of around 5% and will be able to reduce the cost of homeownership by taking out an equity loan for up to 20% of the price.”
Claire adds: “We can even help those with a property to sell by using our Mastermove service. Available to those moving up, down or sideways on the housing ladder, it’s designed to help make moving quick, simple and hassle free for homeowners by enlisting a local agent to sell their existing property at full market value.”
Between Redrow’s various central Lancashire developments there’s plenty to choose from ranging from two-bedroom starter homes to substantial five-bedroom detached properties.
They all boast a high specification as standard including well equipped kitchens with integrated top brand name appliances, plus stylish bathrooms and en-suites.
