Ditch the DIY and buy a readymade home in Flintshire
With one in 10 householders counting the cost of botched DIY, starting afresh in a brand new home in Buckley could save time and money.
Research by Lloyds Bank suggests that 44% of homeowners have carried out significant home improvements or plan to do so – with varying degrees of success!
In contrast, the properties at Redrow’s Abode venture lend themselves perfectly to contemporary living and won’t need lots of repairs or renovations.
Situated off Drury Lane, adjacent to Redrow’s Heathlands development, the homes boast highly specified, open-plan living spaces and in-vogue features such as underfloor heating and wetrooms.
With selected homes ready to move into, buyers could find that DIY is soon a thing of the past.
Elaine Mounsey, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), says: “Repairs and maintenance can eat up a significant chunk of household budgets, particularly for those living in older properties. In fact many of those surveyed by Lloyds found their repair bills almost doubled when things went wrong.
“The beauty of buying a brand new home at Abode is that there’s no DIY required. We’ll ensure the kitchen is fitted with stylish yet practical cupboards and drawers and that sleek modern suites and quality fixtures and fittings are installed in the functional and stylish wetrooms. We even include top brand name integrated kitchen appliances which come with manufacturers’ warranties for added peace of mind. What’s more, the availability of Help to Buy Wales makes the homes even more attractive.”
Help to Buy is aimed at those lacking a substantial deposit. All homes under £300,000 qualify for Help to Buy Wales which means they can be purchased with a 5% deposit. Purchasers would then cover the remaining costs with up to a 20% equity loan from the Welsh Government, interest free for five years, and a 75% mortgage from a lender of choice.
For example, the ‘Abode 1130’, a three-bedroom home priced at £224,995 can have its initial purchase reduced to £179,996 with a deposit of just £11,250 needed.
Currently available are two, three and four-bedroom homes with prices starting from £184,995 for a two-bedroom mid-terrace property up to £242,995 for a detached four-bedroom home. More two, three and four-bedroom homes are coming soon.
Exterior brickwork, render, window styles and doors present an ‘uncluttered’ but very smart façade and there’s the careful consideration and extra design details that Redrow’s renowned for. The specification is on par with Redrow’s other designs, including its Heritage Collection, which will continue to be built alongside the Abode homes at Heathlands.
And there are options to make a new home even more contemporary with extras for the homes including things like outdoor kitchens and high spec, low maintenance AstroTurf and lighting for gardens.
Chester city centre is just 10 miles away, and, based in a semi-rural setting, buyers still have easy access to the shops, entertainment and culture that a major city offers yet be able to return home to a quieter more relaxed environment.
There are also the high street fashion and home furnishing stores at nearby Broughton Retail Park, which is currently undergoing an expansion to include a new 11-screen cinema, choice of restaurants and a new bus hub.
