New Homes in Hartford Tick 'Better Way to Live' Survey Boxes
New homes in Hartford tick all the homebuyer boxes when it comes to choosing a place to live, according to a new survey by housebuilder Redrow.Redrow’s Weaver Park and Hunters Chase developments of three and four-bedroom homes, situated in the picturesque village of Hartford in Cheshire, have proved a big hit with families and the results of a lifestyle survey make it easy to see why.
Independent market research company Censuswide carried out the national survey for Redrow Homes, asking 509 parents and the same number of children, aged 4-16, what their priorities are when choosing a new home and neighbourhood.
Schools topped the list, with 72% of parents placing a good local school among their top three, followed by 37% favouring somewhere with good transport links and 33% highlighting the importance of a ‘community feel’. Being close to family members came fourth.
When children were asked what’s most important to them about where they live, 60% said it was being near to their friends, followed by around half (49%) who liked to be close to school. Almost half (47%) valued having lots of parks and green space nearby, ahead of 17% who thought being near facilities such as a cinema was vital.
Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW) said: “Hartford really is a great place to live, set against beautiful surroundings. It’s the perfect location to enjoy country living, yet within an easy distance of all that Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales have to offer. It’s the ideal base for commuting and offers something for all the family.
“Weaver Park and Hunters Chase are just 20 miles from Altrincham where house prices are typically very high, so buyers are getting all the benefits of a brand new, modern and spacious family home in a lovely Cheshire village without the hefty price tag.
“With education top of the list in the survey, new buyers at Hartford needn’t worry as there are a number of highly rated private schools and three OFSTED rated `good’ schools nearby, including two primary schools within walking distance. Hartford High School is also in easy reach.”
Other survey results included:
Over half (54%) of parents chose a new build when asked what their ‘dream house type’ would be..
In terms of what they look for in the property itself, outdoor space came out overwhelmingly on top, with almost three quarters (74%) picking a garden as one of their top three desirable features, followed by off-street parking (44%) and storage space (39%). Completing the top five priorities favoured were the more up-to-date features of a ‘modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances’ and a house that is ‘economical to run’, both being chosen by almost a quarter of adult respondents (23% and 22% respectively).
Weaver Park and Hunters Chase are two of three Redrow developments in Hartford, which also includes the exclusive collection at Hartford Grange. Both Weaver Park and Hunters Chase feature three and four-bedroom homes in a range of styles from Redrow’s Heritage Collection, with exteriors inspired by the Arts & Crafts design era of the 1930s, and modern family-friendly interiors.
