Redrow and Sandbach Utd kick off 2018 in style with new homes and new kit
Redrow initially sponsored two Sandbach Utd teams - the girls U15s and the boys U9s - when it launched its Sandbach Community Fund in June last year, and three further teams have since successfully applied for funding.
The housebuilder’s Abbeyfields development in Sandbach is also being dressed for success this year as its next phase of homes is set to go on sale in a few weeks’ time.
The sponsorship, which equates to over £3,000 being donated to Sandbach Utd in total, has funded items of kit ranging from rain jackets and winter training gear to water bottles and trophies.
Chris Hall, manager of one of the Redrow supported U12s teams, said: “We’re delighted, and very grateful, that Redrow has invested so much into all of the different teams at Sandbach Utd. The U12s really needed some away strips, training gear as well as some hats, bottles and trophies so we’re thrilled with the support as we’ve been able to purchase, and already make good use, of all of those things.”
Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), added: “Redrow loves to get involved in the communities in which it builds and we have been particularly active in Sandbach, inviting local groups to apply for a proportion of the £5,000 pot allocated to the local area last year.
“We had a fantastic response from Sandbach United! We were only too happy to help out the many teams at the football club as we love to support grassroots sport and can really see it benefitting local families and endorsing a healthy lifestyle.
“We’re building just around the corner from where the players train so it’s a perfect partnership and I’m sure many of our Redrow homeowners will be visiting the club at some point.”
Sandbach United currently runs teams from age six to 18 as well as both ladies and men’s open age teams.
Abbeyfields lies just to the west of Sandbach, not only close to the club on Hind Heath Road but also close to a choice of excellent schools. Additionally, there are excellent road and rail links nearby, including the M6.
There is currently a range of four bedroom homes on offer with prices starting from £342,995. Phase two, which will be a mix of three and four-bedroom homes, will be on sale by early February.
